A sneak peak into our space production

“Something must have kept me around,” Gitte laughs when musing on why she has been working in Asnaes for more than four decades. Gitte embodies many of the most important qualities that we, at Flux, seek and nurture. She is loyal, meticulous, funny, reliable, and with a keen eye for detail. We are extremely grateful that she decided to give so many valuable years of her working life to our service.
Joining us in the summer of 1982, she has been with us almost from day one. “When I started, we were only four people and we produced nothing but transformers,” Gitte recalls. Today we have hundreds of employees with production facilities on two continents. “Back then, I was working with assembling in the Industrial Department, tinning and soldering cords, but that was about to change.” Almost 43 years later, she worked in logistics, and her story at Flux is one of professional and personal development.
In 1994, we opened our Space Department, and in 1999, that meant that Gitte’s set of skills was needed elsewhere. Her journey at Flux goes to show that when working with us – quite literally – the sky is the limit.
The shift from the Industrial Department to the Space Department brought along a few changes: “The level of complexity and quality assessment has definitely changed over the years”. Initially, she continued working with assembling the components but gradually her role transformed into logistics, taking care of in-comings and out-goings in the warehouse – an extremely important task.
“Everything going into the warehouse needs to be checked, registered, and filed. We must do a certain amount of random sampling inspection as well, and that can be a very time-consuming task, but there’s no way around it; we have to be 100 per cent sure every time, and everything must be traceable”. Gitte elaborates: “When I started, there was no Space Department, so the required level of traceability was nowhere near the standards of today, but the meticulousness of the job is something that I really enjoy”.
Key to keeping our employees motivated and happy is the room for personal and professional development, and Gitte is a testament to that. “I probably wouldn’t have stayed if I was asked to do the same job over and over again,” Gitte says. “My tasks keep evolving, but I’m 100 percent sure that my superiors have confidence in what I do. I’m sure of that.”
By the end of April 2025, Gitte’s time at Flux is at an end. It is time to pass the torch to the next generation, and Gitte has a word of advice to the person tasked with filling in her big shoes: “Be punctual but never stress. Stress is of no use to anyone. Quality takes time, and we never compromise on quality. The most important thing is to always deliver something that you can stand by. You must be 100 per cent sure every time.” Her words ring with a tone of gentle authority.
Gitte speaks with great affection about her time with us: “I must admit, it has not been an easy decision to make because I really love my job.” However, after a pregnant pause of reflection, she adds: “But I do have a husband at home, and he has made it quite clear that he would love to spend some more time with me.”
We would like to thank Gitte for everything that she has done for Flux over the years, and we hope that her story will serve as a testament to what a career at Flux can offer.
